Motorcycle magazines tends to focus on the biggest, &, baddest bikes to roll down the local roadway.

MOTORCYCLE CRUISER writes about mid-size bikes. And, MOTORCYCLE CRUISER writes with crystal clarity! My subscription to this fresh magazine is new. I have only gotten two mailed edtions, after I read one & subscribed. But in the past two months the magazine has given me exact, detailed informaion which I have spent much time re-reading. The current issue (Feb, 2002) gives info on 90 new cruisers. Each cruiser has a brief narrative report. To be frank, these narrative reports are fairly dull, &, fodder from the manufactures brochures. But, there is a 4 page detailed spec sheet covering the 90 bikes! The magazine gives exact info on: 2002 Price, Engine Displacement, Engine Type, Carburetion, Transmission/Final Drive, Wheelbase, Seat Height, Dry Weight, Fuel Capacity, 1/4 Mile time/mph, 200-yard top-gear accel from 50mph, Fuel Mileage, &, Issue Tested. The Jan 2002 issue had a similar artcle detailing 9 mid-size bikes. That article went for several pages and covered a multiple-rider review that allowed the bikes to be compared by a variety of riders.

MOTORCYCLE CRUISER has a fresh group of regular writers. I am still learning the names of the 5 or 6 staff writers. What I notice in all of these writers is an enthusiasm for riding! Other motorcycle magazine writers can deliver good bike reviews, but many seem to lack "passion". The staff at MOTORCYCLE CRUISER exude the idea of "Ride, Eat, Ride Some More".

This magazine also has a balance of tech articles, moto ads, and touring articles. The current issue has an article about "Touring Kentucky" which I am anxious to get into. I see a map in the article that actually seems to be user-friendly. Other magazines may or may not include maps that work for this spacially impaired reader.

Finally, I enjoy the small, almost postage-stamp size ads in the 3 final pages of MOTORCYCLE CRUISER. These ads are also "fresh". I have found information about touring areas I had not considered in the past.

The subscription price for MOTORCYCLE CRUISER is $14.97 for one year. I would highly recommend this bike magazine for any rider who does some touring.
