Pros: Unbiased, Informative, Thorough
Cons: Expensive
Review: Be prepared to spend a good long time when sitting down to read this periodical. As others have indicated this magazine while expensive to subscribe to is chock full of informative and well written articles concerning all aspects of Motorcycling. I...

Pros: Honest test evaluations. Not beholden to any advertisers
Cons: A bit expensive, but still more informative than the other magazines
The Bottom Line: Seemingly unbiased testing of bikes and gear. Straightforward answers to reader's technical questions.
Review: This little publication is right on. There are few self-serving articles like you find in the glossy magazines. Everything seems to be straightforward. No color pictures because that costs money. Look at the color pictures in the other publications or...

Pros: Straight scoop on bikes and products
Cons: A bit pricey, black and white only
Review: Fact-based and no pulled punches.
That was the promise of Motorcycle Consumer News when it began its run in the early 90's, and they've kept their promise with fact-filled articles each month. With no advertisers to keep soothed,... |

Pros: Unbiased reviews, great riding advice, diverse articles
Cons: None
Review:
I've been riding now for almost 3 years, so I'm very new to motorcycling. Since I started riding, I've had a subscription to Rider magazine, and to Motorcycle Consumer News (MCN). Even though I really liked Rider, I have since stopped my... |

Pros: High-quality, no ads, wide range of topics
Cons: Pricey
Review: Motorcycle Consumer News (MCN) is probably the best motorcycle magazine I've seen. Unlike the colorful, ad-filled mags like Motorcyclist, SportRider, etc., MCN has more than just shootouts of the latest and greatest bikes.
MCN accepts no... |

Pros: Real World
Cons: Black and White
Review: Motorcycle Consumer News is not your run of the mill motorcycle magazine. It's a magazine that you will want to read from cover to cover the moment it reaches your mailbox! They get into the nitty-gritty of motorcycling; ergonomics, geometry, mind over...

Pros: wide variety of information on owning and riding a motorcycle
Cons: nothing worth mentioning.
Review: I have read the other reviews and will agree on the merits of the magazine. Everyone that talks about it comments on the cost of the subscription which is cheaper than the piece of chrome fluff that you just bought to impress your friends. You might ...

Pros: no ads, no biased, straightforward, "real world" tests
Cons: printing quality, often a month or so behind other pubs
The Bottom Line: A magazine that takes a balanced approach to reviewing products
Review: Motorcycle Consumer News isn't a magazine I usually read for entertainment. I read it for knowledge. This is the type of publication that can make you a better consumer. They point out the little things that can lead to big disappointments.

Pros: The most honest mag in the industry
Cons: Sometimes the use amateur reviewers
Review: MCN is what Consumer Reports wants to be. MCN tells it the way it is with very little bias from advertising since there is no advertising. You can read an article and be sure that what you are getting is truely the authors opinion, pure and simple. The...

Pros: No nonsense reviews, always good and truthful.
Cons: Very expensive, only in black and white, only available by subscription, Very dryly written.
Review: I subscribe to about five different Motorcycle mags a month. MCN is one of them. It's really a good magazine, if written a little dryly. I like the content of this mag, especially the reviews of bikes and products, which is my main reason for subscribing...
