Author's Review

Mortal Kombat Trilogy is absolutely the best fighting game ever for the home systems. I've devoted my time to mastering only Midway fighting games since the introduction of Mortal Kombat and to be able to play with all the characters from previous games was what we hardcore MK fans always wanted. For anyone new to the outworld, Mortal Kombat is a tournament in which your fighter must defeat Shao Kahn to keep him from invading our dimension. Along the way you'll fight many other skilled fighters and Shao Kahn's minions like Kitana(a fan wielding menace)and Reptile(an invisible terror). Of course, you can also play as these characters and many others with their own unique talents. Just the addition of Ermac(a character believed to be in MK1, meaning Error Machine) is reason for buying this beautiful game. But the challenge doesn't end in just defeating an opponent, you can destroy them!

Every character has sequences of button pushes and directional changes that will trigger a finishing move after defeating your opponent.
Fatalities are finishing moves which kill your opponent such as the scream from Sindel(a sort of bride of Frankenstein, or in this case, bride of Shao Kahn) where the power of her scream melts the flesh of her opponent.
Animalities are finishing moves in which your character changes into an animal and kills your opponent. My personal favorite is Scorpion's in which he turns into a penguin, lays an egg, and it explodes taking the opponent with it.
Of course all this killing shows anger so to show your opponent that they weren't a challenge at all you can humiliate them with a babality or friendship. In order to do these finishing moves you cannot block in the deciding round of the match. What will that say for your competition?! A babality is just what it says, turns your opponent into a cute little baby, and no, you can't do a fatality on it.(anyone remember the glitch in MK2 arcade 1st rev.?)How's that for humiliation? If your feeling some respect for your opponent even though you managed to beat them without blocking you can do a friendship. Most of those are cheesy especially Sindel's where she kicks a football, laughs, and says "that was fun!" ???

This game has so many characters each with their own individual feel and moves you'll never grow tired of this Midway fighter. Boon and Tobias have done it again!!!
