A Different Kind of Hero

The Bottom Line: Highly recommended for all lovers of Pern, or of dragons in general, McCaffrey builds an outstanding story in the epic Moreta.
Review: Every world needs a hero. Every land needs a legend to encourage people during hard times, to serve as a standard against which we all measure ourselves. Moreta is that standard for Anne McCaffrey's Pern.

Moreta:good or bad?

The Bottom Line: I think that this book fills in needed Pern history but is not written as well as some of the other books.

I have read this book and i think it is good but the bad thing is thta the story has already been told in Dragonsinger:Harper of Pern. I think this spoils the story line as you know the end but it fills in a valuable part of Pern's history...

She Breaks Your Heart, and You Love Her For It

Review: We first hear of Moreta long before McCaffery writes this book, way back when Lyssa uses the Ballad of Moreta's Ride to save Pern. If you've followed the series from the beginning, you already know how it ends. But McCaffery makes you forget.
