Great Molecular Book

Just finished with this book last semester and it had some great parts about it. The professor did not use the book completely but that was primarily due to use of current journals as resources. The book covered all of the main areas of our study and much more in chapters we didnt finish. Overall the book was very large, and it did like going into the history of certain things a little too much for my taste and most of my class mates. What sections we did have to read to go along with the lecture covered everything fairly well and definitely helped with passing the class. What I really liked about the book, at least the newer edition, is the covering of functional genomics. The few chapters they put in on more modern genomic study systems and lab techniques were definitely needed as I am heading off to graduate school and the previous classes had covered only basic techniques in lab. Along with the information the book also had a constant set of detailed colored images corresponding to all of the major pathways and systems talked about in the section. The CD included supposedly had some useful stuff but I never really needed it.
