Epinions MBOC Still The Leader of the Pack

by  javajnkie,  Jan 15, 2003
Pros: Comprehensive, the CD rocks, the text is understandable, the pictures are in color!
Cons: Table of Contents needs some work. New versions don't come out often enough.
The Bottom Line: Buy this book if you're even slightly interested in Molecular Biology. It's clear and comprehensive, and it's Alberts, so we can trust the authority!
Review: Alberts is Back

Pros: Informative, thorough, well-illustrated
Cons: Huge. No, I'm not kidding, here, IT'S HUGE.
Review: Alberts' Molecular Biology of the Cell (hereafter referred to as MBOC) was my bible as a Molecular Biology undergrad at the University of Arizona. Of the small handful of textbooks I kept from this time, it is the only one that has never ceased to be of...

Epinions Great Molecular Book

by  pattermj,  Jan 20, 2008
Pros: Great book, broad range, images
Cons: too much history included
The Bottom Line: Great book, useful in class and out of class
Review: Just finished with this book last semester and it had some great parts about it. The professor did not use the book completely but that was primarily due to use of current journals as resources. The book covered all of the main areas of our study and ...
