Fabulous Wrap But Pricey

I am an avid baby wearer. I began baby wearing 15 years ago as a nanny I have used many differt I continued this with my own children and love it. One of my very favorite baby carriers is the Moby D wrap. I love it because you can wear baby on front back or side. there are like 5 front holds and you can do two back hold variations.
I paid $65.00 after shipping and handling and although it was a bit expensive I love it.
I researched this well because although I liked baby wearing I had spent enough money on carriers I was not all that happy with. I received my wrap and instruction book and began using it right away. I found that Wrap style carriers do have a longer learning curve thatn others but once you have wrapped it a few times it gets easier. I recommend starting with a larger heavier doll or stuffed animal before trying a baby. I also recommend having a partner handy the first time or two you wrap an infant, or the first time you try a back carry.
First I was impressed with the beauty of this wrap. Mine happens to be black with an asian motif brocade. Not the brown that is pictured but it is still the Moby D. That being said be careful the brocade can be "picked" easily. This does not effect the use of the sling its only cosmetic. I also love the tapered ends. This makes tying off the wrap much easier.
I was also very impressed with the full color instruction book with photos as opposed to illustrations. In this same vein I liked that Moby teaches you to pre wrap your wrap and then put your baby in. This can be a little tricky to learn how tight to wrap at first but you get the feel after a few times. Many companies I researched teach you to hold the baby then wrap. this is hard with a wriggling child and 15-18 foot of material.
This wrap also comes with its own matching carry pouch. I loved this because if you want to carry a smaller diaper bag you can hang the pouch from the diaper bag handle. The wrap although long rolls nicely into a smallish pouch - a bit time consuming to fold it that small though.
This wrap is also a great size because if like me you happen to be a bit on the fabulous and thick side it will still fit. I am about a size 18 and narrow through the shoulders and I still wear this with comfort and ease.
If you love baby wearing or even if you just WANT to love it this is a great product to buy! Don't be turned off by the "longer learning curve" Its really simple once you get use to it. My final recommendation? buy it! Love it!
