A great aid

The MLA guide has become an indispensible tool in my high school career. While its provisions for the formatting of papers are sometimes confusing (but always precise!), reading a paper written in MLA format is much easier than reading any other type of paper. Following up somebody's research is simple because all of the needed information is clearly laid out.

What makes MLA unique, however, is its assistance in dealing with the unfamiliar, such as capitalization rules for quotes in foreign languages. While many style manuals will tell you that you need the publisher, city, and date of publication, no guide is as straightforward as MLA in terms of the exact requirements for any entry.


The best part of the MLA guide is the introductions to each chapter or section, in which it lists all of the possible pieces of information to be included in an entry. This enables the writer to formulate a citation easily, even if some information is missing. The guide takes this into account, making it an excellent source for writers of any kind.
