I bought my 1999 Limited Montero Sport in January of 1999 in the middle of a snow storm. I had just relocated to Ohio, and was adjusting to the snow. The Montero showed me the way.

The car runs great. It has the 3.5L V-6, and its got power like a Bull. I had looked at other models, but none offered the balance of power, fuel economy, room, and luxury for the price.

I also enjoy the attention it gets. You won't find one in every parking lot you enter. I often get looks and questions about the vehicle. It gets a solid 20 mile per gallon on the highway -> running 70-75 MPH (believe it it's true).

My recommendation is go for the top of the line. The stereo system is great (Infinity 10 disk changer). It offers great quality, and if you have a teenager, he/she will be popular amongst their "loud music junky" pals.

If I were going out to do it again, I would buy another. There is nothing on the market that gives me more for my dollar.
