The VCR market today is a disaster. VCR's have turned into a commodity and most of them are designed to throw away after a year at most. After two unsuccessful attempts with current Sony units, I finally found the Mitsubishi HS-U748 in a local specialty store. What a difference. This unit has great build quality and is made to last. Picture quality is outstanding. If you can find this unit, buy it. You will not be disappointed.
