My Thoughts on Mitsubishi's New DVD Player
Pros:
Great DVD player, looks great, easy to install and use, great sound!
Cons:
Wish that perhaps the DVD remote had more functions available.
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this player in a heartbeat - it has all the functions for an average user or a home-theater junkie.

Author's Review
After purchasing a 55" Mitsubishi HDTV (Medallion), I needed a new DVD player that wouldn't display chunky artifacts of data on the screen and would provide me with the surround sound decoding that I needed. I finally settled on this DVD player (well, actually I have the DD-8050, but that wasn't listed here) and I am soooo happy with my decision. From the moment I opened the box, I knew I was dealing with a powerful, classy player. Finished with a chrome/mirror exterior, it definitely looks impressive sitting above your television or in your entertainment center. The first movie I played was the first one I could find laying around, Memento. Now, while its not the best to experiment with audio and video capabilities, I noticed a difference right away. None of the colors bled into each other like they had in the past, and the first rumblings of 5.1 digital sound came blasting through my speakers with amazing clarity. However, this isn't just a DVD player. It also comes equipped with the ability to display KODAK picture cd's and....even better, play WMA and MP3 encoded diccs. Now you can burn a cd of music from your computer and blast it out through your home stereo....amazing! It also plays DVD-RW's and many other file formats...great for watching home movies made on your PC. And, with the current drop in price that DVD's are seeing, the top-of-the-range Mitsubishi player was only a 200 hit from Ultimate Electronics. Worth every penny.
