I have never had any other GPS, so I do not have anything to compare it to. However, I had no problem figuring out how to use it. I love the POI feature, and the GPS mapping was about 90-95% accurate. You definitely need to have access to paper maps, which is probably true with all GPS systems. However, their customer service is TERRIBLE!!!! My GPS sound went out after I had the unit for about 10 months, and I did not use it daily, just mainly for vacations. I didn't have the receipt, but their website stated they would honor the warranty for 1 yr from manufacturing date without a receipt. But their customer service reps repeatedly told me I would have to have the receipt. They were VERY rude and unprofessional. After several repeated phone calls, I finally was able to speak to a manager, who agreed to let me return the device, and gave me an authorization #. When I received the details for the return by e-mail, it stated I would have to have the receipt! No more MIOs for me!
