Product Review

I personally enjoy the magazine

by   aeromaccer ,   Sep 15, 2000

Pros:  pretty interesting, especially the interviews

Cons:  lots of advertisements throughout the pages

The Bottom Line:  I would recommend this magazine for people who have an interest in military history. That maybe can not get enough from another source

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

I first received this magazine in my early teens. This magazine made history more interesting than in school. The history teachers I had could make the most interesting subject very dull and boring. I already had an interest in history (especially in WWII, Civil War and the Revolution) when I first started receiving this magazine. So this helped me with keeping my interest level.

This may not be the most accurate magazine. How can any person claim this is exactly what happened in history?? The reason I say this is because history is biased it was written by people namely the winners. There are dates that some can be set in stone and others are just approximate.

For me personally I enjoy this magazine and I would renew the subscription that I have. Some people may think it has just strategy. There are interviews from people that experienced WWII from either side. Which offers more of an objective view then just the allies. There are other interviews from other people who are living history. Then about various battles that happened in the past. They mainly focus on WWII and Civil War, but they do include other battles (wars) in the magazine.

They do focus a fair bit on WWII and the US Civil War from what I've noticed. I enjoy the interviews the most out of everything in the magazine. There are probably better military magazines...but this one is fun to read.
