Pros: Diverse pieces of history, many you may not have known. Excellent illustrations.
Cons: Cheaper paper quality.
The Bottom Line: One of my very favorite magazines.
Review: For a number of years, I was a faithful reader of Military History magazine. In fact, I was a regular subscriber, and I have the stacks of old copies to prove it. It was always a treat to receive the latest copy in my mailbox, and I would eagerly ...

Pros: Generally well written by pros for an educated mass or lay readership
Cons: Design could be more crisp; so could proof editing on occasion
Review: Military History is a niche publication in the best sense: directed at the general but educated and interested reader, hewing to high standards, written by persons competent in the field, it will not only please generalist 'buffs' but has on more...

Pros: Articles on a wide range of historical eras
Cons: Too many Civil War/WWI articles (Hey! They have their own magazines!); ads are often cartoonishly amateur
Review: One day, about a year and a half ago, I was browsing in the magazine section of a local bookstore, and I came across a copy of Military History magazine. It had a picture of the Battle of Trafalgar, or some such, on the cover. I leafed through it, and...

Pros: Interesting topics, large interview in each issue, interesting columns.
Cons: Somewhat poor balance of article focus
The Bottom Line: A solid, meat and potatoes magazine for military history buffs.
Review: Military History is a bimonthly magazine that covers military history from the Hellenistic period to the 1980s. Each issue usually contains two to four main stories that cover battles or campaigns. In addition to these articles, there is an extensive...

Pros: pretty interesting, especially the interviews
Cons: lots of advertisements throughout the pages
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this magazine for people who have an interest in military history. That maybe can not get enough from another source
Review: I first received this magazine in my early teens. This magazine made history more interesting than in school. The history teachers I had could make the most interesting subject very dull and boring. I already had an interest in history (especially in ...
