Miele T9800 Electric Dryer

I bought this unit with washer wanting the best product that was dependable.It has been dependable(1 week)but wow is it loud. I could live with the noise if I thought it did a good job drying the clothes,but usually things are not completely dry at the end of the normal cycle.This washer and dryer have to be returned,we just cant live with the dryer noise.I would describe it as a medium pitch blowing sound about 80 decibels.It would be very difficult to talk on the phone standing next to this unit running.I like the style and ruggedness of the unit but after upgrading our vent piping to all smooth metal pipe and no real reduction in blowing sound, I will send it back to the store. Not being able to totally silence the buzzer also is a Big negative.It will make you attend to the unit even if you turn the buzzer off at beginning the cycle and then it has a problem, because it wont stop buzzing until you open then close the door to fully stop the cycle.The salesperson assured me that this set was quieter than even the Bosch,very doubtfull.If you do laundry in the basement away from living area it might work well for you.
