Great dryer ... Metallic, reverberating noise resolved
Pros:
Dries very well. Good looking. Miele technician well trained.
Cons:
Third-part techs. Missed days of work. Low clearance at bottom of unit.
The Bottom Line:
Buy it. This is the best dryer I've owned. Be careful of the bottom when transporting, though.

Initially, I got a faulty unit. It sounded like a piece of metal was loose or the sheet metal was too thin somewhere. It was loudest when the machine gets warm and reverses directions.
The first technician sent was from a local non-Miele shop and proved to be useless. The Miele service manager tried to blow me off by blaming my duct work. It had nothing to do with my air ducts. The unit was unacceptable.
Once I escalated the issue, they sent a capable Miele technician to my house and issue was resolved. The bottom of the dryer's internal unit was banging on the bottom metal panel. There is very little clearance. It is likely that when transported, a forklift pushed the bottom panel up, reducing clearance and creating a terrible noise. Miele needs to place some padding at the bottom to avoid this.
Now, it is the quietest dryer I've ever owned. Plus, I can now evaluate the dryer without ear plugs ;)
This is an amazing unit in combination with the washer. Clothes are dry in some cases within 15-20 minutes. Another nice feature is that the clothes are not bone dry (if you want them that way set to "Extra Dry"), so you can hang them up while they are slightly damp and the wrinkles are minimized. The dryer attempts to keep the clothes fresh and unwrinkled by repeatedly reversing direction once the clothes are done.
Also, there is minimal piling of clothes and virtually no lint on dark sweaters, etc. This is an excellent unit.
