There is nothing like screaming thru the city at 100 mph trying to dodge other cars with people on the sidewalks diving for cover. This is NOT a simulation. This is my kind of racing game. free-roaming, fast, and furious. It is a racing version of games like Driver and Twisted Metal.
Yes, it does only have 2 cities and you will be salivating for more, but there is a high replay value to this game. The cities are huge and realistic looking. There are two versions, Arcade and Career, both are fun. On the arcade you can change things like time of night, amount of traffic, and number of pedestrians.
There are three good arcade versions for 1 or 2 players, including capture the flag and a check-point race. What makes these races so fun is the fact that everyone can go different ways as long as they hit all the checkpoints. You pick the quickest route. In the career mode you have to chase people down to get them to race you. If you race and win you get their car. It is not easy. I have spent hours just chasing down the city champion, but I am not complaining because just driving around the city is fun in itself.
This is the kind of racing game I like. A free-roaming landscape where I can go anywhere I want and every once in awhile fly thru the air and slam into the side of an apartment complex. Oh, yeah.
