Better than Vista

This operating system is a fancy upgrade from windows 2000, except Windows xp can run 16 bit applications, unlike 2000. This is a great operating system if you want to game, word process, or just plain use the internet. It is far more reliable than the newer version of windows (Windows Vista). The Security is Fairly good, It's definitly not completly secure, you will need to run antivirus software regularly. Windows xp is geared mainly towards working, and it does run Power Point, Excel all the fun toys of that sort. Things to hate about it are that it is not nearly as efficient as windows 2000, and that it cannot support direct x 10 and it cannot run a lot of new games that are coming out for windows vista only. Bassicly, It won't run halo 2 which is a huge bummer, but chances are you don't have the Direct x 10 graphics card anyways. The things that are the best about it are that It Is not windows Millenium Edition and It's not Windows vista. Other than that it's not much of an upgrade from windows 2000, and I would stick with that if you still have it installed. But definitly install this over ME or vista.
