Zune: Chasing The iPod

So you need something to get you through boring bus rides, and long waits at the doctor's office. Well this is it. Microsoft has done something right...again! (Xbox).

The Zune is easy to operate, using a familiar touch pad similar to the older generation iPods. And the sound quality is great though you may find it even better with your own headphones. Picture quality is good. And it comes with an FM radio. Other features, include peer-to-peer song transfer. This transfer option is based on sharing songs with other Zune owners that you know and are in close proximity with. Zune also allows for Podcast downloads and more recently with a little tweaking, game downloads.

Switching to the zune was easy after my iPod was stolen. I chose the zune for its economic price, large screen display and fm radio.

The only downside to the Zune so far is the look. The outside looks like cheap plastic and the lock button is easy to lift out of place and lose. But with that said it is still possible to lock the Zune if you do lose the button. And you will want to keep that screen clean.

Overall I give the new Zune 80GB an 8 out of 10.
