After getting my laptop for school, I needed a mouse. Apparently mine didn't come with one so I had to find a good deal considering the expense of the laptop. At Circuit City, I found just such a deal. I picked up this mouse for $15. It has been wonderful.
For now, I do most of my work on my laptop in my room on a futon. It works perfectly on the futon's surface. It also works well on a table, the floor, basically everywhere I've used it. The range is also a plus. It works from 5+ feet away, I just tested it and that was as far away as I could get. The battery life is great but you do have to take the receiver off and put it in it's holder at the bottom of the mouse in order to turn the mouse off. No big deal. There was no install, you just plug in the receiver to a usb port and you're ready to go.
Overall, I'm very happy with this mouse. At first I wanted a bluetooth mouse but for the price, this can't be beat. If you need a mouse, or you just want to rid yourself of burdensome cords, get this.
