Author's Review
I spend a great deal of time on a computer, both at home and work. In the last few weeks I have been having numbness in one of my hands which I shared at Bible study during prayer time. One of our friends told me about the split keyboard he had at work and how much better he liked it over a traditional keyboard and offered to pick one up for me to use at work. Well he did and now I'm sold!
I had seen these "split" keyboards, but had never given any thought to purchasing one. The main reason for my resistance was that even though the word "natural" appears in its name...it just didn't look like it would "feel" natural. But it does, more so than I can believe.
I am using it to type this. I decided to give it a trial run at home before taking it to work and as soon as I can, I'm going to purchase one for home too. I have used it for two days now and can't imagine going back to the flat keyboard.
I am still dealing with the numb fingers and will leave it to the doctor to figure out, but I have already noticed that my wrist don't ache like they used to and it just feels so comfortable. I am noticing that I am making fewer typing errors...thus typing faster and as my comfort level increases...so does my productivity.
The keyboard itself does take up a bit more space than the flat keyboard I had, but only in depth. The length is virtually the same. And the home, end, delete, page up, page down, insert and all the arrow buttons are arranged different and in my case are smaller, but that hasn't been a problem.
I have read in other reviews that folks either love or hate the attached wrist rest...I personally love it and wouldn't remove it even if I could. It's just a matter of preference.
I am unable to tell you how much this product cost, because my friend who purchased it will turn in the receipt for reimbursement, but I am assuming that it is in the same price range as noted in other reviews on this same product.
I would highly recommend at least "trying" this keyboard. You can always repack it and return it for a refund or credit.
