Halo: Combat Evolved for Windows

My Experience

Since I bought this game, it has been one of my favorites ever! My favorite part of this game is that you can play online with hundreds of people in hundreds of games and it's absolutely free. I've spent whole days playing this game because I was able to play with so many people online and with my friends. They got the game and we find eachother on the game and we can team up and fight on a team. It's so much fun for me and I really enjoyed playing this game. The only bad part for me is my internet "lags" and when I create a server other people are not able to join it.

Price

For how much this game can do, and how good the graphics are and everything, this game is very cheap. It's only $20.00 and you get to play everything for that. There are no extra charges for playing online or anything. You can buy it and play! To buy this game you must be 17 or older because of the M rating. If you are younger than 17, you must have a parent or guardian to buy.

Rating

This game has been rated "M - Mature". It got this rating for the blood and gore, and violence. In the game, you are able to hit/shoot others and they can die. They bleed and blood lays around and maybe not suitable for small children. The blood in the game is not realistic, my opinion this game would be suitable for teens. Another reason for this not being suitable for small children would be that you can easily play online with other people. All you have to do is type in a name and press the multiplayer button. It is very easy and able to understand by about anyone. Children playing on the internet with this game should be watched because there are no filters and people may as for personal information that little kids may not know about not giving out. For example, age, sex, where you live, etc. You wouldn't want anything happening to the kids!

Graphics

The graphics in Halo are very good. The hills, paths, creeks, and rivers, pretty much everything is pretty realistic. The graphics are so good and they went into so much detail. Even in the grass, if you look closely at it, through a scope or something, you can see each individual blade of grass. They had to have taken alot of time to put this together and it looks great!

Story Mode

This part of Halo is not one of the best. Since they have all the options in multiplayer modes, the story mode just seems "boring". Your not able to work with other people on the story mode in Halo: Combat Evolved because everyone has to be on their own computer and the story mode is offline. It's the same as the story for the X-Box version of Halo, and about the same graphics. The story is very well put together but I get bored playing games on my own, so this is not my favorite part of Halo at all.

Multiplayer

The best part of Halo for PC! Being able to play online with other people. For this it is very good to have fast internet. I have DSL and it still lags sometimes for me. People with dial up would not be recommended to be using the multiplayer because it would not work well at all. The games you play would skip around very bad and you would not be able to play well. Also, when you slow down, it slows down that game for everyone, not just you. One of the most annoying things in this game is people trying to play with slow internet because it makes it impossible to have fun on multiplayer.

Servers

In the multiplayer mode you will have to select a server to play on. You can easily click a server and press go or make your own. When you select a server it shows you the ping of that server, weather you need a password or not, how many people are in it, what map its on, and what kind of game they are playing. It makes it very easy to choose what server you would like to join. Unfortunately, there are so many servers on the full version on this game, it's almost impossible to find friends. When you make your own server you choose all the options you can see when selecting a server, name, how many people can join, password, etc. It's very easy to do and really fun!

Multiplayer Options

When joining or making an online game to play with others you can choose what kind of game you would like to play. You can select score, king of the hill, capture the flag, and so much more. My favorite three are capture the flag, rockets, and snipers. In snipers you can make it so everyone has to snipe eachother. You can make it so it's a one hit kills game and it makes sniping so much funner. You can also make snipers a capture the flag game. You can just add sniper weapons into your capture the flag game and enjoy. In the rockets game you can easily put in all rockets and have fun blowing eachother up. You can make this one hit kills also or you can play normal, it's up to you. There is so much you can do in these options.

Levels

There are about 20 - 30 levels in this game. Some are inside, some are outside, and some even underground! There are so many places you are able to go in this game and it makes it so much fun. Just like every other Halo game, there are glitches to play around with in every level. You have to play around, look hard, or look them up online, they are very fun to do.

Options

Some of the options you have in this game are to change your name, color, sex, race, and even weather your a human or alien. It is very easy to change, just go in the options and click what you want to change. It's very easy and makes you different than all the hundreds of other people on the game. Doesn't everyone want to be noticed?
