So Glad To See This On PC!

When I first played Metal Gear Solid when it was on PSX I was very impressed and immediately fell in love with it. Top be honest it's the only PSX game I would purchase and the ONLY reason I held onto my Playstation after I got my PC.

When I found out that the game was heading to PC I was thoroughly excited and I promptly pre ordered it and awaited its arrival. Now a couple of weeks that I've had it I've had time to become completely immersed once again and I am much more pleased with this new version of a classic game.

Metal Gear Solid is a game that is very well written and has a story that most Hollywood movies lack these days. It is a game that utilizes strategy over shoot 'em up and that is a rarity.

Now I'm going to assume that now that Metal Gear Solid has been around for a few years you know that plot so I will just go into the details of the PC version.

Of course there are improved graphics, and that in my opinion improves the gameplay. I have read from other reviews that without a good video card the graphics can be a problem. I haven't had any problems personally and I was running the game on a 3DFX Voodoo Banshee at 800 X 600 when I first got it. Now I'm running it on an ATI Radeon 64MB at 1024 X 768 and it is truly a sight to see!

The gameplay is virtually the same as the PSX depending on whether you're using a joypad or a keyboard. Personally I had some difficulty adjusting to using just a keyboard because I am one of those people who use both keyboard and mouse. This is a game that you don't want to do that with.

Other then the graphics another bonus to the PC version is the immense size of it and the amount of gameplay that is included. With the PC version you get Metal Gear Solid as well the Metal Gear Solid Virtual Missions. That should be enough gameplay for anyone.

All in all the PC version of Metal Gear Solid is a great improvement over its PSX predecessor and a game worthy of purchase, even if you own the PSX version.
