2006 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class

Pros: Ride, handling, sophistication, simplicity of controls, quietness, comfort, useful features, solidity, styling, power, sound.

Cons: Summer tires, Bose bass, noisy 9-speed fan, lacks all the wood trim available, painted grille.

The Bottom Line: Awesome example of Teutonic perfection in engineering, execution, and assembly. The SL is the fabled Lorelei and performs so well that it seduces the driver. Another Mercedes to love.

Pros: Great control, good power, luxurious hard top convertible.

Cons: Small rims, bad gauges, 5 speed automatic.

The Bottom Line: There is much room for improvements. The 2008 model may be better, so be patient and wait for improvements before buying one.

Pros: Acceleration. Phenomenal braking. Body styling. Hardtop convertible. Front seat comfort/adjust. Supercar performance. Benz comfort.

Cons: Hard cornering. Rear tires not wide enough for 600 HP. 12 MPG. Sound system.

The Bottom Line: Easy to drive car with 600 HP.  Not sure if anyone other than Mercedes offers this "stock" for so little money.
