When you want to record something to a DVD, and don't need the ability to re-record over top of it, a DVD-R will do just fine. In this instance, you are looking for something that you plan to copy and keep, and that will be able to store different types of media in the process. With the brand of Memorex, you have a middle of the road supplier in regards to quality, but it typically does the job quite well. The key is to find a DVD-R that is going to work well with your burning software as well as your DVD burner, and if you have ever used a Memorex and come away with good results, this is the perfect way to purchase a lot of the blank DVD-R's for a very good bulk discount. This product specifically is the 100 pack of the Memorex DVD-R's, and comes on a nice spindle that keeps them compact when not in use.
Each of the 100 Memorex DVD-R's has 4.7 GB of space, allowing you to store quite a lot on the provided space. This is a write-once solution to your storage, so when you are burning the DVD-R, make sure that you have everything set up to put it on correctly the first time. As with most DVD-R's these aren't very forgiving if you (or your computer) messes up the burning process the first time through. That can be an issue if you have had a computer working with loading problems, or if your DVD burner is taking up so much processing power that it freezes itself, you want to make sure you have the capabilities to actually use the product well. Memorex isn't an intuitive brand, and that is why they sell for such an affordable price, and keeping that in mind, you have to be willing to do everything right the first time to get the best results from these DVD-R's.
These DVD-R's can burn well up to 16x, and are quite reliable as a product once you have put all your information on the DVD. The use of these DVD-R's isn't too complicated, and if you have a good burner, you are probably going to end up with a good result with every one of the blank discs. However, once in a while one of the Memorex DVD-R's doesn't quite turn out correctly, and thus turns into a coaster rather than making its way into the DVD player. The trick is to be patient, and understand that when you are getting such a great price break for a huge number of DVD-R's, that you are going to see random instances where it doesn't stand up 100% of the time. Don't misunderstand though, as there are spindles that will provide a perfect run of DVD-R's, but as with any product, there can be a couple of bad apples in the bunch.
The Memorex DVD-R's are sold in many different stores, ranging from the typical office supply store like Office Depot to the average department store that also has supplies such as this. I have also seen them on sale on the internet for some great deals where they give you a really great price point of just under $30.00 for the full 100 pack spindle of the DVD-R's. If you can find them on sale somewhere for closer to $20.00, it is simply a deal that you cannot pass up. For 100 blank DVD-R's, if you are paying $20.00 for the bunch, that works out to only 20 cents per DVD-R. I have had really good experiences overall with the Memorex DVD-R's, and though there is always the chance of a bad burn, or a scratched one, it has consistently been worth purchasing these DVD-R's for the extreme affordability. If you are looking for some good to great DVD-R's at a very reasonable price, these are a product well worth buying.
