Medal of Honor: Frontline is a WW2 based first-person shooter that takes you through the war from D-Day to Hitler's secret weapons' facilities. The game had solid graphics (for it's time), good weapon variety, great enviornment diversity, and a good story.
Graphics:The graphics for this game are rather dark, but have good textures. The many different facial models were pretty good as well. The best example of graphics in the game are the uniforms of the soldiers. The uniforms were not only historically accurate, but looked great too. The weapons and muzzle flash was also a great highlight of the graphics. However, the muzzle flash sometime obscured your vision of what you were firing at. Despite the game's decent graphics, there were frame rate drops around fire, although these occurances were few in number.
Gameplay:The gameplay in this game was very First Person Shooter-esque. You run around and complete tasks whilst eliminating enemy units. Some fun things about certain parts of the game were covert missions. One mission: Operation Repunzel, you must go around showing your badge to the German gaurds. But sooner or later, your cover is blown and you must fight. Some other, rather funny things was the fact that you could destroy a tank while using grenades. Needless to say, this is completly wrong, but it was still somewhat funny. The amount of weapons were also cool. You get the basic WW2 American weapons: the M1 Garand, the Thompson SubMachine Gun, the BAR, the Colt .45, the Springfield Rifle, and various other weapons, which I will let you find yourself.
Aside from Graphics and Gameplay, the game had many other great things in it. There were alot of glitches that were fun to mess around with. One that I remember, was that, in a mission, if done correctly, you could pass a gaurd without him noticing you. Replay value was also great in this game. I had fun going back and trying fun missions on harder difficulties, and just playing the game over and over because it was very well done. The music score was also one of the best. It was great orchestral music that went along with the atmosphere of the game.
But aside from all these awesome things about the game, there were some cons. One being, that the game was very lineral and scripted. Meaning you always knew where the enemies were going to be. After playing the missions a few times, you could probably predict where enemies are. But thats the only major downside to the game.
All in all, Medal of Honor Frontline is known as one of the starters of the huge WW2 "wave" of games that the consoles are into now. It's a great game with good graphics and fun missions. Anyone who enjoys shooting, war, combat games should buy this game.
