Imagine giving up a Holden Calais which was automatic everything - including how it turned on and off the lights when it decided that the light was dim or bright. Plus it was never wrong. Although I think people thought I had lost the plot when I drove through tunnels.
But due to our business changing direction, we needed to discard a sedan and look for a much bigger vehicle. Eventually after looking and driving several vehicles, we decided that for value for money, we had found our next vehicle.
We purchased the Sports model - it had a few extras (which incidently we got as a free upgrade). The Sports edition had more comfortable seating, sun roof, different trims, a boot retracting cover.
Every time we filled up at the Petrol Bowser, we questioned whether we had bought a thirsty vehicle, but after the eventual wearing in, the fuel efficiency has much improved.
We find our Mazda Tribute to be pretty powerful. Just two weeks ago, we were in a situation where a car cut a corner and was heading directly towards out passenger side. At the last moment, we realised the other vehicle was not going to stop. My partner immediately put his foot on the accelerator and we sped off - the other car just missed us. Thankfully the Mazda had enough get-up-and-go because it certainly got up and went.
The Tribute has plenty of room - seating five people comfortably. The seating provides excellent support and we find it firm but comfortable. The front seats can be adjusted for height, tilting and leg room. We love this aspect.
The visibility from inside the Tribute is excellent. Very few blind spots and plenty of window space. We feel pretty safe that we are sitting a little higher and have an excellent view of everyone surrounding us.
Probably the only fault that we can find is that it has a poor turning lock. The turning lock feels more like driving a smaller truck.
We don't regret purchasing this vehicle. It's very easy to drive and has never failed to please.
