run don't walk... away

My experience with my 2002 Mazda B3000 4x4 truck, which I bought new, can only be described as disappointing. I have had to deal with more or less constant mechanical and electrical problems, including: warped brake drum backing plates at 20K miles; failed fan belt pulleys and clutch at 15K, 40K and 65K; failed radio at 25K; air bag indicator light at 40K and 55K; door ajar indicator light at 30K and 65K; failed clutch bearing at 20K; leaking clutch master cylinder at 70K; failed battery at about 25K; failed alternator at 65K... the list goes on. Reliability is far below average, especially for the electrical system. Warranty service until expiry at 50K miles (at Marina Motors in Capitola, California) was shoddy at best. Many items that were supposedly repaired under warranty failed again after a few thousand additional miles. The 3.0 L v6 engine is underpowered at best. Get used to Civics passing you up moderate grades as you struggle at 20 below the speed limit in third gear. I bought this truck because it was about $5000 less than a similarly-equipped Toyota. Take my advice... fork out the extra money for a Toyota or Nissan.
