ES V6 is great but watch resale values

by   worriedfrisbee ,  Feb 26, 2003
Pros: Great interior and exterior styling, fun to drive, a great overall car.
Cons: Resale value is horrible, premium fuel required for V6, 4 speed automatic transmission
The Bottom Line: The ES V6 version is great - just watch out for resale values. Also look at Accord, Camry, Jetta/Passat.
Review: I just sold my black beauty - a 2000 626 ES V6 sedan (I bought a Honda minivan). I purchased the car with 12k miles on it from a local dealer - I paid $16,500 for the car in 2001. The car was heavily equipped with everything but fog-lights and a rear...

Review: My husband and I purchased this car this past June. My husband took one look at this Satin Black 626 with Chrome accents, and Mr. American Car only, fell in love. The car was owned by one owner and had 64,000 miles on it but it was very clean. After about ...

2000 Mazda 626 LX - High Expectations

by   hogsfan6632 ,  Mar 18, 2004
Pros: GAS MILEAGE!!, reliability, reliability, reliability, reliability.
Cons: Slight amounts of road noise, interior cloth is cheap.
The Bottom Line: Buy it. Reliability and gas mileage alone make this an awesome starter car for anyone, and great for families on a budget.
Review: For starters, this is my mother's car - but I drive it extensively, and have nearly 10,000 miles into it since I began driving shortly after the car was bought. It is a 2000 Mazda 626 LX 4-cyl, that now has approximately 135,000 miles on it, after buying ...

Good used car buy.

by   woodenskillet ,  May 31, 2003
Pros: Roomy, gas mileage
Cons: 4-cylinder not the fastest or smoothest.
The Bottom Line: Good roomy, transporation. Originally listed for around $20,000 and sells for under $10,000 now - so you get a for the money.
Review: My wife bought a 2000 4-cylinder LX before we got married. I was actually pretty impressed with this car - the 2.0 liter I-4 isn't the smoothest or quickest engine in the world, but it moves the car decently - and you can get 30-32 mpg on the highway...

A Great Car

by   phunk ,  Sep 20, 2000
Pros: Styling, comfort, power
Cons: Not real happy with the warranty.
Review: I rented this car on a business trip and was surprised and pleased by how well built this car really is. It's a good solid car and well priced.

Power: This car is actually pretty peppy for a four-banger. The automatic tranny know...

I Could Start A Mazda Dealership

by   lucyricardo ,  Mar 15, 2000
Pros: Smooth ride, attractive, roomy, dependable
Cons: Extra expense for air conditioning unit
Review: I can't say enough good things about a Mazda. I have owned three of them. The first was a 1986 Mazda 626. This was a GREAT family car because it was roomy and very, very comfortable. In addition to being suitable for Sunday rides, it was used for...

Pros: Drive, acceleration, looks, inside, and A/C.
Cons: Fuel usage.
The Bottom Line: I have had the car for more than a year now. It is an excellent car! Everybody else likes it too and they let me know.
Review: I have been looking for a new car for awhile now. I wanted to wait until September or later to take advantage of lower prices. But I couldn't resist when I saw the 2000 Mazda 626 LX V-6. Plus, I received a $2000 rebate. I heard so many good things...

Great car for less money

by   jeyan ,  Oct 13, 2003
Pros: Rich interior, great comfort, quite, good gas mileage, can't beat the price.
Cons: V4 engine is weak, poor handling in curved ramps
The Bottom Line: A V6 Mazda Lx auto would be the best choice to go. Highly recommended.
Review: I have a 2000 Mazda 626 LX automatic with a four cylinder engine and I am really satisfied with its performance. So far no trouble spotted and the best thing of all is the comfortable good looking interior. The V4 engine may be a little anemic, s ...

Review: Looking to upgrade from my "economy" car into a more luxurious car, I still wanted to get the best value for my money. I feel like I got a great deal on my 2000 Mazda 626. I was able to get the luxury package (leather seats, etc) but still...
