This is the best car we have ever owned

Pros: Reliability and gas mileage

Cons: Only one I can think of is trunk door tends to drop

Bought my 1994 Mazda Protege new. Just hit 90,000 miles and it runs excellent. I am so confident that I will have it for quite a while, I just put new 80,000 mile tires on it. The standard transmission provides plenty of zip for this car. Previous reviewers complaining about the lack of power must have the automatic transmission. The speedometer to 140 mph is a nice touch. We have driven our Protege all over the country; it has made it through blizzards up north and summers in Texas and has never let us down. The 39 mpg is also a great feature.
