I love it but....

I recently purchased this new Maytag double oven to replace the relic that had been installed when the house was built 25 years ago. So naturally, this oven is wonderful in comparison. It's new! I have absolutely no complaints about the oven's ability to do its job. As far as baking, roasting, and broiling go, it's done a superb job. The heat distributes evenly as the food is cooking so some spots aren't more done than others. It has especially made a difference in the quality of my cookies and cakes. I love the digital operation pad for the upper oven and was amazed at how easy it was to learn to use. (Far easier than programming a VCR!) My one and only complaint about this oven is that when the timer beeps signaling time to remove an item from the oven, it only beeps one time and not very loudly at that. I have had the misfortune of burning items several times because I wasn't in the room when the timer went off. My old oven used to make an annoying buzz that could be heard all over the house. It didn't stop until I turned it off. This one stops on its own regardless of whether or not the baking item has been removed. I highly recommend the oven but also recommend you purchase a separate timer if you tend to be absent-minded at times.
