Author's Review
Because I got this oven, I was able to get rid of my toaster oven and free up counter top space. The toast feature is wonderful, and it browns very evenly. The only thing is that it takes a few minutes longer to make toast than a toaster or toaster oven. It takes longer to heat up than my coil top. I have only used the upper oven, I use it for everything, heating, warming, toasting, making pizza, I love it. I bought the Frost White version that has the white stovetop instead of gray and it is frosted glass and real nice. I have two issues with the stove, one is that the metal piece that holds the two piece of glass together in the oven doors was all rusted and pitted and 5 minutes after it was delivered I noticed it and had to call Maytag. They sent out their repair person(which i had to sit at home for 5 hours for) and the guy said that it was cosmetic and not really something under warranty. My response was that a big gouge running down the front of the oven would also be cosmetic but nothing I would expect to see on a brand new stove. He told me that eventually it will look like that over time because condensation will build up inside the two pieces of glass and cause it to rust. I told him that really was not the selling point I wanted to hear if he ever wanted me to buy another Maytag product. So he reluctantly replaced it, but not before I cleaned and buffed the new piece (it was dirty). Now I have gone into two dept stores to look at this oven at their metal pieces are perfectly shiny and not pitted and rusted, so make sure if you buy one, you check out that piece before the delivery guy walks out the door. The 2nd odd thing about it is that there is an opening between the display knobs and the range, where you can see cords. It is very odd that they designed it to have this open like that.
