So-So

When I was looking for a dishwasher (last fall), this one was rated pretty well. I don't think there were any epinion reviews, but ConsumerSearch.com said it was pretty good.

Unfortunately, many of the reviews you now see for MayTag dishwashers that were posted so far this year have been less complimentary, and I'm going to have to agree with them.

It's quiet. I'll give it that. And it worked great for the first couple months. But now it is doing a poor job. Dishes rarely come out dry (even with "heated dry" on), and tupperware often has some sort of film on it.

The "hard food disposer" is just a metal blade that moves past a grate, it's attached (underneath) to the water sprayer that spins around on the bottom of the dishwasher. In other words, it is NOWHERE NEAR as powerful as the kind of disposal you'd have in your sink. So you can't put a lot of really really dirty dishes in there.

We've tried several brands of detergent without making a significant difference.
