We recently replaced our old broken Magic Chef dishwasher with this new Maytag. It cleans fair at best, is sort of loud, but at least it has a huge capacity. But, the cycles take FOREVER. The "Short Cycle" is approx 2 plus hours long, the "Normal Cycle" is about 3 plus hours long. We haven't had the courage to try any extended cycles for fear the machine may run all night. We actually thought the machine was stuck on until we went on the internet and saw this was a common complaint. After just two months, we are looking to replace because our old machine cleaned better in 1/3 the time, so I view this thing as a total waste of energy. (Yes we read the manual, and yes the incoming water is red hot, so it's not like the machine runs so long to heat the water) I wonder how this thing can run SO long and still dishes aren't that clean.
***Note: plastics, pots, pans and most silverware come out just as dirty, if not dirtier, than they went in. So save yourself the aggravation and just wash by hand.***
I would avoid this model at all cost!
