Maytag Neptune MCY8000AW Electric Dryer

I purchased as electric dryer similar to the model shown in the picture in 2006. The Dryer worked very well up until Nov 2007. When the heating element and computer board went out, I worked with my repair service provider to have the dryer repaired. The only part that was not avaliable was the heating element. By Jan 2008, I was told after many calls to a clueless Maytag Customer Line that the part would not be avaliable until September of 2008. Wow - no wonder the Maytag repair man sits around all day. I decided to get a refund per the terms of my service contract and will not buy another Maytag product again. I understand Whyrlpool has bought out Maytag and hoping that they don't have the same parts supply problem that Maytag does. Maytag/Whyrlpool will pay me 10% of the cost of new machine, providing I buy one of their units. Not sure the savings will be worth it. I may try a Whyrlpool unit, but I will take out the extra warrenty service anyway. Do your research before you buy.
