Maytag service legend a thing of the past?

The Bottom Line: Go for a cheaper washer, Maytag is going to stick it to you if it breaks, save yourself some money and headaches by avoiding them.

Love affair with machine ruined by horrible MILDEW problem

The Bottom Line: Too risky. I personally experienced devastating mildew issue and got no support/relief from Maytag. Expensive unit had to be replaced after only 3.5 years of use.
Review: We bought a brand new Maytag Neptune Washer and Dryer in July 2002 (MAH5500BWW) and loved everything about the machine. It is a joy to use and it is also fairly quiet.

We had one motor issue with the unit that Maytag came out and repaired...
