So Far Not So Good

The Bottom Line: I do not recommend anything that costs $800 and breaks in 2 months and is difficult to get fixed.
Review: I bought this machine after much research into top loaders and also for the Maytag name after having trouble with my Whirlpool it's entire life. At least the Whirlpool lasted a few years before it's first breakdown!

The Bottom Line: Please be careful, the greatest danger may not be readily visible (mildew/chlorine). Read the manual carefully.
Review: Just check if somebody, especially children and/or elderly, have become more prone to hayfever, colds, flus, respiratory ailments, etc. Anyone with a compromised immune system may be more susceptible.

Bad experience with customer service

The Bottom Line: Don't buy it. It's too expensive and you can't depend on Maytag to stand behind it.
Review: We have one of the first Neptunes out,having purchased it in 1999. 3 weeks ago it started leaking water and we were quoted a price of $502 to replace an outer tub with bearing and tub seal from the local Maytag authorized repairman. No word for 3...

The Bottom Line: Avoid Maytag at all costs.
Review: Never again will I buy anything Maytag after my Neptune experience. It was improperly installed at delivery (left a packing strap in it that required a service call) and it went downhill from there.
