So far, so good ... I like it fine.

Date of Review:  Mar 19, 2006
The Bottom Line: Go ahead and get one. Just make sure you get it at a good price, and don't expect miracles.
Review: I bought this 300GB drive mainly to have a place to store my rapidly growing MP3 and recorded WAV music collection, e.g., off the 60GB hard drive of my Toshiba notebook, and secondly, as an "all purpose" backup for all the other stuff I keep on my C...

Good drive, Bad Enclosure, Extremely bad customer service

Date of Review:  Feb 7, 2006

The drive...

case sucks, drive is all right

Date of Review:  Mar 1, 2006
Review: Like the other reviews, I strongly suggest not to buy this external HDD! Let me explain this a little bit: the enclosure sucks, harddisk itself is 'all right'.

The facts:
-> Already after a few months of using this drive as a backup...

Maxtor One Touch II (Used 6 times and died)

Date of Review:  Aug 19, 2006
Review: I usually back up my data one a month. Family photos and such. Now the drive case LED just flashes blue (both lights) simultaneously. I took apart the case myself since Maxtor customer support closely resembles HP in that it sucks. Yes the drive...

Maxtor OneTouch II 300GB completely failed after 11 months

Date of Review:  Oct 31, 2005
Review: I bought a Maxtor OneTouch 300GB external for backup using Retrospect. It worked well and was easy to install. No problems until it failed completely. The system went down and the drive didn't come back on reboot (the blue LED flashed continuously...
