Mary Poppins: A Masterpiece To Say The Least
Date of Review: Mar 18, 2000
Disney did it back in 1964 when it came out with this great family film Mary Poppins and continues to do it today in 20000. The films are always winners and of course always classics. I movie I loved back in 1964 and now my three year old sees it in 2000 for the first time and loves it just as I did then.
The film stars Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, and David Tomlinson just to name a few. Julie Andrews manages to capture your heart and your imagination as the irrepressible nanny with a passion for magical adventure.
What I love is that this movie helps a child's imagination run wild with good clean fun, no hidden meanings just pure enjoyment. It is not often that an entire family can say that about a movie, but when it comes to Disney classics that does more often than not stand true to form.
The special blend of animation and live action, dazzling dances and award winning songs makes this film a joyful and timeless classic. This film was the winner of 5 Academy Awards in 1964, including Best Actress, Best Song and Best Visual Effect....to name a few.
So return once again to your childhood and see this feel good film again. After all" A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine..." Who could ever forget these timeless songs/ Not I.
