Pros: Nice portable classical guitar from master maker - good for lefties.
Cons: You'll want to take it everywhere.
The Bottom Line: If you travel regularly and you think "wish I had my guitar," then you should pick up a Martin Backpacker.
Review: For those who have more than one guitar, the Martin Backpacker, classical, is a great addition to your collection. The price listed at e-opinions is higher than what I paid - under $200.
The great thing about this guitar is that it fits in an... |

Pros: easy to carry around, great sound for it's size
Cons: need strap to play, even while sitting
The Bottom Line: This is a great guitar for travelers, especially for playing for yourself or small groups.
Review: In late 1992, Musician Magazine's section on new toys featured a review of the Backpacker. The reviewer seemed pretty impressed. The listed price was $215 for the acoustic model. I didn't really need another guitar, but Christmas was coming up, and I...

Pros: Portable, affordable, name brand, comes with case, good quality
Cons: Impossible to handle and hold while playing and sitting, quiet dead tone.
The Bottom Line: Great product and idea but I would rather suffer and carry a slightly larger guitar with a regular body.
Review: I have mixed emotions about this one. There are some excellent reviews and I don't disagree but I would not buy one due to the difficulty holding it.
If you plan to backpack into the wilderness I can understand why this guitar is so... |

Pros: I like my backpacker it goes where I go.Great little classical guitar to carry.
Cons: I need a guitar strap, the guitar is small enough to slip away from me.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this guitar to anyone. It is a well built guitar that has a good sound. The guitar is great for traveling. It is light to carry around.
Review: I wrote this review, but left a few things out, so I am going to add more information on the bottom of the page. I did not buy my Martin backpack guitar,it was given to me as a Christmas present from my husband. My husband I were in the music store ...

Pros: Portable, relatively inexpensive, fun. Remember it's a 200 travel guitar...
Cons: Hard to hold.
The Bottom Line: Good portable, travel guitar.
Review: Please remember that this is a 200 dollar travel guitar. It is designed to be relatively inexpensive and portable. I think it does this job nicely. I seem to take it with me everywhere. It is real easy to throw in the back of the vehicles when I ...

Excellent craftmanship, nice sound for its shape/size, NOT for classical guitar practicing

Pros: Nice sound for the size and shape
Cons: Can't be held properly for classical guitar practice
The Bottom Line: Excellent craftmanship. Reasonable sound for its size. Don't expect to use it for practising classical guitar. Works well for strumming and some fingering.
Review: I was looking for a classical guitar that I can easily take with me for practice and recreation on trips. When I got it, I was quite satisfied with the sound, mind you that I didn't expect much.
What's remarkable about the guitar is the... |

Pros: Lightweight, compact, portable, smooth, deftly-fashioned...
Cons: Unplayable.
The Bottom Line: Buy a playable backpacker instead.
Review: I tried everything in my power to content myself with this lightweight, ostensibly convenient backpacker guitar. However, after twisting and gyrating myself into all range of awkward positions in an effort to comfortably play this frigging thing, I've ...
