Break a sweat and a few records

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games for the Nintendo Wii is a great game for multiple reasons. The game is based on the 2008 summer Olympics, so if you are a fan of the winter Olympics then you may want to look away but if you love the summer Olympic Games and want to participate then you are in luck. Up to four (4) players can compete in the various events. Some of the event categories include, track and field, swimming, skeet shooting (very hard event), gymnastics and a number of others. You can choose from a single event to compete in, a circuit event (3 predefined events) or free play events, where you can choose the events to compete in. There are a number of other game variables internal to the menu. As you compete in the events, it will display the current world record and Olympic record for those events, which is neat.

Another inherent benefit of this game is the light aerobic workout that can be attained while playing certain events back to back. The running and swimming events are the best at simulating running and swimming which require the use of both hands. The game can be played with just the Wii controller but is better when combined with the Nunchuk.

In my opinion, if you have children that like to play video games and you want them to get some exercise then this is a good game to get them. In addition, you can break a sweat with them.
