Mario Kart WII

This game is great for all ages, from kids to grandparents.
You don't have to worry about violence, and the online component is safe for kids since they don't have a chat option.

The game has excellent replayability because you keep playing to unlock characters, courses and other karts / bikes.

The online play offers a rating system so you can see how you fare against other people in the world, and you can use your unlocked characters online.

The game comes with a wheel to put the controller in and believe me it makes it much easier too play. However you can also play the game without it or with the game pad. Honestly the wheel is the only way to play.

There is also a battle mode like in other Mario karts which is really fun to play, and it revives courses form Mario Kart 64 as well as SNES Mario Kart.  Remember Rainbow Road?? Its back too!

Also the game is not impossible on the 150cc setting, which makes it allot more enjoyable. There is really no point where it is impossible to win like some games.

I honestly cannot think of any cons of this game, either then the fact that it should come with an extra steering wheel. :-)
