Halo 7: March of the Pigs

by   cdm72 ,  May 2, 2008
Pros: Great remixes of already-great songs.
Cons: I actually wish it had been longer.
The Bottom Line: Halo 7 restored my faith in NIN remix cds.
Review: I can only imagine the excitement rabid NIN fans had to have felt in February, 1994 when Halo 7: March of the Pigs was released. This 5-song CD single was just a glimpse of the awesomeness to come. I recall very clearly buying the single for ...

Step Right Up, March, Push, Crawl Right Up On Your Knees

by   thevoid99 , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Jan 10, 2002
Pros: Ogilvie's Production, Arrangements, Mixes, Instrumental Track, & Vocals.
Cons: Under 30 Minutes & Geared More Towards Hardcore NIN Fans.
The Bottom Line: Though it serves as a starting point to the most successful period for NIN, March Of The Pigs remains an essential single for hardcore NIN fans.
Review: (Note: Originally done on 11/6/00 but now re-edited and extended). After the success of the Broken EP in early 1993, Nine Inch Nails leader Trent Reznor finally found success on his own terms after years of dealing with labels and constant ...

NIN's best pre-album single...(Halo 7)

by   squarekid ,  Jul 7, 2003
Pros: Very good mixes of good songs. Some mixes are just a tad abstract.
Cons: A Violet Fluid doesn't hold it's own against the other songs.
The Bottom Line: Another great single from the band that is NIN that is Trent Reznor. Hardly any flaws. It's cheap. Get it.
Review: You may be in a tough decision on whether to get this version or the UK double-release. Trust m ...

Domestic version

by   MOW ,  Aug 16, 2000
Pros: Retilian; All the Pigs, All Lined Up
Cons: A Violet Fluid
Review: The previous review describes the March of the Pigs import, not the domestic version, which I own. Although I have the Canadian domestic print, I doubt if it is different from it's American counter-part.

The tracks on the domestic March of the...

March of the Pigs...and Reptiles...

by   lambchops , lead in Music at Epinions.com ,  Apr 24, 2007
Pros: Some very compelling material...
Cons: Some not very compelling material...
The Bottom Line: For fans only, March of the Pigs has some bright moments but is bogged down by ridiculously long remixes.
Review: While not everybody will agree, I believe Trent Reznor's most musically creative time to be in the mid 1990s. After the breakthrough success of Pretty Hate Machine (1989) and the wide acclaim for both Broken (1992) and on more modest level Fixed (1992) ...

Shrewd marketing, but at least the music is good: part I

by   Guildenstern , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Jun 14, 2000
Pros: 'All the pigs all lined up', 'Reptilian'
Cons: Why is 'Big man with a gun here'? It sucked the first time around
Review: The two singles from "The Downward Spiral" were 'Closer' and 'March of the Pigs'. Each of these singles was released in a two cd format, in which you bought one cd in a traditional plastic case, and the other in a card case with room to fit the...
