The Bottom Line: Britax seats are worth the money. They are far more comfortable, more secure, safer, and easier to use than others. Marathon in particular is a must-have for bigger babies.

Britax Marathon Keeps Your Child Harnessed to 65 lbs? No Way!!! - UPDATE APRIL 2007

The Bottom Line: The Safety 1st Apex is a much better seat and values than the Marathon. But if you want a Britax opt for the Regent.
Review: My oldest daughter was outgrowing her Evenflo Triumph convertible car seat but at only 2 1/2 at the time she still need a 5-point harness. Options at that time were limited and we ended up with a Britax Marathon.

Many Advantages but 1 Major Flaw

The Bottom Line: Maybe the short crotch strap length is not a problem when used for younger children, but this was a major problem for us. Look instead at the Britax Husky.
Review: The Marathon has many advantages but, in my opinion, has one MAJOR disadvantage. The crotch buckle with its strap is very short in length and not adjustable in length or position.

The Bottom Line: Nice features that other car seats don't have, but not necessarily worth the money. Would recommend it more than I would not, but other options are also worth looking into.

More than the Roundabout, less than the Roundabout

The Bottom Line: An innovative seat that is the answer to many parents' prayers. It has its problems, but they are far outweighed by its benefits.
Review: The Marathon is a unique carseat that's much better than its "little sister" the Roundabout in many ways. But in other ways it does not meet the high standards Roundabout owners are accustomed to.
