Dr Cocky meets Ms Doubledealer

This is the second time I watched this movie and I didn't like it either time, but for different reasons each viewing.
I admit the first time I watched it I was tired and fell asleep through it half way and got the totally wrong conclusion. I was tired and saw it all through half lids open or is that Eyes Wide Shut? No that was another yawner.
The reason I bore you with how bored I was the first time is to illustrate how confusing the script can be if you aren't focusing.
The first viewing, I thought this was a murder mystery. The early parts of the movie show two college kids getting murdered. I thought this was going to be a guess who the killer is type scenario. In fact I was so out of it the first go round I thought Bill Pullman was the murderer. Boy was I off base. You might think I gave it away. Wrong, the movie isn't about who killed the girls exactly. It took me the second viewing to figure out the murders were a device to complicate the story line of revenge and who is shafting who. After the second viewing and realizing the movie is more about who cheated with who, I thought back and felt that the murders weren't really even a necessary part of the plot.
Alec Baldwin does a great job as a cocky "god complex" surgeon, who does a very bad thing. He takes out a healthy ovary from Nicole Kidman and she becomes infertile. The plot twists from there and I wont give away the surprise(yawn) ending. Suffice to say it is a multiple reversal of who is good and bad in the roles. The cast does ok and the sets are realistic, but if as you see it took me two viewing to get it, in my epinion it wasn't worth it. Bill Pullman does his average job at being average man.
Baldwin is so slimy my DVD is still oozing oil.
Overall it is better than TV but not by much. I have watched it in both DVD and VHS and neither format improves a poorly written script.
