As a Geotechnical Engineering Group We purchased two units as a start up. We want the GPS to log location (POI) and download to the computer then add to the GIS data base.
Will only work on the network system if administrator is logged on. Magellan (India) was of no help. I believe they are part of the Bush Administration. I never heard so many spins and excuses on the problem. Spoke with several tech, we have a complete computer tech section in our building also. They could not get it to work. They spoke with Magellan - no results. I tried the corporate office, transferred to India, tech supervisor. More BS and Lies. Finally he admitted they were aware that it was not compatible with a network system due to security issues. I asked why it was not labeled so on the box or outlined on there web site. He also said he would put on the "rush list" and if I explained the problem on a survey they were going to Email me it would help, and I should be getting a phone call explaining the next step. I have not received any email or phone call. The tech center tells me the account is resolve and closed. His suggestion were 1.to have the administrators log all our POI 2. Purchase and stand alone laptop. 3. Take it home download the POI and email them to my Office. 4. Just manually input the hundred of POI. I use the home computer to download the POIs.
However it I had purchased this unit to use for personal use and on my home computer, I would have only on issue - tech support, only seconds to get in, is limited to know issues.
