Nice widescreen GPS

The Bottom Line: good, solid GPS for the money
Review: I really do like this 1412 GPS. In the past I've owned 3 other GPS units (Mio, Garmin, and HP) - so I have a good idea of what the competition is putting out there. The nicest feature of the 1412 is the touchscreen... its SO easy to select items on...

Good basic GPS Unit

The Bottom Line: This is a great basic unit for someone who wants to get from point A to point B without much hassle
Review: We just traded in a TOMTOM XL 330 for this unit because we wanted the NAVTEQ maps. This GPS was on sale from $350 and we got it for $220 at circuit city.

Junk Dont buy

Review: used the Megellan RoadMate 1412 once and after that it would not boot up.  Customer support center is "over seas" so be sure if you call that you can understand broken english.  Paid to have it shipped to repair center, they returned it stating...

Awful Unit, Awful customer service - Do not buy

Review: This unit was slow to connect to satellites, wouldn't hold a charge, and broke 1 after only gentle use 1 month after the warranty expired.  Cusomter service offered to sell me a refurbished unit for around $100.

For a unit without traffic...
