Pros: price, features, accuracy, awesome routing, memory, openness
Cons: cant think of any!
The Bottom Line: excellent , no the best starter GPS, the best for the buck, and alot of features and comes in handy!
Review: First off I will tell you this unit is for more advanced GPS users. The Magellan GPS world centers around Mapsend software, Topo3D for topography maps, and DirectRoute for streets. You need this software to take advantage and use the eXplorist to it to ...

Pros: Very accurate, easy to use, reddish back light for use at night
Cons: None, so far
The Bottom Line: Very good handheld GPS receiver
Review: The eXplorist 210 is a sensitive and compact handheld GPS receiver. The layout of the controls allow right- or left-hand operation. When turning the unit on under open sky, it finds enough satellites (12 is not unusual) for accurate 3D positioning ...

Pros: Dependability, ease of use, features - especially built in storage (22Megs).
Cons: Firmware incompatibility makes uploading maps a bit more work .
Review: I purchased an Explorist 210 as my first GPS, and it has continued to amaze me. I purchased the combo pack with the map disks (which I highly recommend). The detail and accuracy of the maps, along with the dependability and ease of use make this unit an ...

Pros: Size, value-for-dollar, PC connectivity, nice display
Cons: Acquisition time, need for additional software
The Bottom Line: If you're new to the world of GPS, this is a great unit to start with.
Review: I've now officially entered the world of GPS with the purchase of Magellan's eXplorist 210. And now I know just where I am in the world... I received a few gift certificates for Christmas this year and decided to spend them on a new toy for myself. ...

Pros: Easy of use,PC connectivity, general instructions
Cons: Understanding some advanced features

Pros: When it works its OK for road navigation.
Cons: Not waterproof, takes forever to find itself, bad customer service. not worth owning.
The Bottom Line: I would stay away from it. Do not consider it waterproof no matter what the hype says - stay away from water with it.
Review: Mine lasted for one set of batteries - by the time the battery died so did the GPS. The things are supposed to be "waterproof" but are unable to take salt spray on a kayak. After going back and forth with their on-line support department they give me ...
