I recently purchased the RoadMate 2200T for my wife. Prior to selecting the RoadMate 2200T, I researched the internet for the options in a GPS which I thought valuable. I narrowed my search down to either the Magellan 2200T or a Garmin. I decided to buy the Magellan 2200T even though the Garmin was rated slightly better in most eyes, but was more expensive.
After buying the 2200T, it took about 15 minutes to become familiar with it's features. I took it for a test drive and was immediately impressed. It was simple to use and worked as intended (to get you where you want to go).
We just came back from a 4 day road trip. We named our GPS Molly. She was wonderful. Molly guided us through several shortcuts and helped select several places to visit while on the road. I was very impressed. The maneuver list was a fantastic navigation tool.
The biggest problems. Trouble mounting in a 2nd car. It would be nice to provide 2 dash mount disks. (If you put an eyelet on both sides of the unit, you could place the unit on the dash by hanging it on the mirror.)
Volume. Loud enough, but it could be louder (especially when you play the radio).
Sometimes it doesn't show when the route changes name (I40 turns into I15 - Molly just said I15 in maneuver list. )
Bottom line. I loved it and have recommended it to all my friends and family.
