GREAT GPS BUT NO PAPER MANUAL!
Date of Review: Sep 5, 2008
Overall, I'm very happy with this unit, great for GPS for the average person, phenomenal information at a low price.
BUT this unit (and probably all Magellan's GPS) come with no paper (hard copy) manual. It comes with a CD from which you can download and print a manual. Presently, my computer is having problems with Adobe Reader and I cannot print from it.
I emailed the company, they replied no paper manual available, SUGGESTED TO TAKE THE CD TO THE NEAREST LIBRARY AND PRINT IT THERE! 52 PAGES! And, from what I can see on my Adobe opening (but no print), most of the 52 pages are 10-25% filled!
Ridiculous! Everything we use in this world should have a manual enclosed as far as I'm concerned. Learning to use this unit is too complicated to do without ready reference.
Also, there is no carrying case. Many of us don't want to dash-mount the unit, but I have no case to protect it. Of course, you can order one at extra cost, but I feel one should have been included with the unit.
